Set of two early-mid 19th century music books compiled by hand, with some notes in pen and pencil. Unique and personal, with gorgeous colour images and covers amongst the scores.
£50.00
Set of two piano music books, likely mid to later 19th century based on the contents and the portraits of a young Queen Victoria in one of them. They have been hand-compiled from a series of separately published pamphlets and as such feature lovely covers - some embossed, with colour prints, etc. - as well as the scores themselves. One of them has hand-numbered pages, and both have been bound.
They are a unique insight into Victorian home-life, showing how people enjoyed music in an age before it could be recorded, and were clearly lovingly put-together. A real treasure of a find.
