A beautifully executed original portrait belonging to Emma Foale’s ‘Men at Work’ series, in which the artist depicts men engaged in a range of practical professions. The medium is oil on canvas. There is a real sense of vivacity and dimensionality to the style, especially in the bright splatters of plaster on the decorator’s overalls, which pop out above the level of the paint. 
The portrait is in its original frame, and is mounted without glass for a more dimensional effect.
